DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF RELIGIOUS?

THOSE WHO WALK WITH GOD ALWAYS REACH THEIR DESTINATION.

“If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and keep to oneself unspotted from the world”. James 1:26-27.

Religion is defined as belief in and reverence for God, our creator and the ruler of the universe. It is also an organized system of doctrine with an approved pattern of behavior and a proper form of worship.

Being religious without knowledge is devoid of rewards. Christianity is not a mere religion; it is the life of God reigning in the heart of a person, causing him or her to have fellowship with God and live the way He wants them to.

However, there is a religion in Christianity; this is what “James 1:26-27” seeks to elaborate. It starts with having full control over your tongue; it continues with visiting the fatherless and widows, especially in their distress; and it includes keeping oneself uncontaminated by the world.

Hold on to the true religion in Christ, and many lives will be blessed through you.
